Elinor Leary and Alexandra A. Hamilton Submit Government Claim on Behalf of Victim Sexually Assaulted by Inmate

Trial Team Leader Elinor Leary and Attorney Alexandra A. Hamilton submitted a government claim against the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation on behalf of Jane Doe, a licensed clinical social worker who was viciously attacked and raped by an inmate at the California Medical Facility.

Although the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation recently renovated the California Medical Facility, it did not provide enough office keys for all its employees. When Jane Doe arrived to work at the California Medical Facility on October 17, 2017, all the office keys had already been distributed to other employees. Without an office key, Jane Doe could not lock her door while in her office, leaving her vulnerable to a physical and sexual attack by an inmate.
